Carnival Cruise to Mexico

In September we took a cruise with our good friends Scott & Beth to the Mexican Riviera. We drove down on Saturday afternoon, visited with friends in Long Beach and stayed the night in hotel near the pier. The seven day Carnival cruise took us to Cabo San Lucas and Puerto Vallarta (it was originally scheduled to stop at Mazatlan but skipped it due to safety concerns). In Cabo we went snorkeling, parasailing, and had drinks at the original Cabo Wabo Cantina owned by Sammy Hagar. In Puerto Vallarta we went on an all day trip to a zip lining place. Tons of fun and tons of photos. Below are some samples, and click HERE for the full album.

Trip to Huntington Beach, Orange County Fair, Disneyland

We spent a long weekend in Orange County for a quick vacation and to celebrate Joe’s birthday. We checked out the Pacific Coast shoreline at Huntington Beach and arrived in the middle of a huge US Open Surf Competition. Later we headed to the massive Orange County Fair for food, rides, and friends. Finally we headed to Disneyland for a full day at the happiest place on earth. Here are a couple of samples, and click HERE for the full gallery.

Brad & Kristina’s Visit, Trip to Grand Canyon, St. Patrick’s Day, & Bon Jovi!

Wow! We really had a full weekend! On Thursday Joe’s brother Brad and his fiancée Kristina arrived for a weekend visit. Thursday was St. Patrick’s Day so we all headed to Fremont Street to join in the celebration. We got photos with a leprechaun! Friday we had an amazing opportunity to take a helicopter tour to the Grand Canyon’s West Rim on Maverick Helicopters. That was definitely a memory to last a lifetime. Friday night we spent some time on the Las Vegas Strip. Saturday morning was shopping for the ladies and a trip to Red Rock Canyon for the guys, and Saturday night we saw Bon Jovi at MGM Grand. <whew> A lot of stuff in just a few days! Here are links to full photo albums for ST. PATRICK’S DAY, GRAND CANYON, and another for other photos from BRAD & KRISTINA’S visit.

San Diego 2011

After a recent trip to Laughlin and Lake Havasu, Lori was in the mood for a waterfront destination. In recent years we spent her birthday here in Vegas at a nice room in a local hotel. This year we headed to San Diego, about a 5 hour drive. We stayed downtown and visited the Gas Lamp District for food, drinks, and karaoke. We spent a day at Balboa park amongst museums and beautiful gardens. Friday we went to the San Diego Zoo and Saturday we rode over to Coronado Island with friends, and then headed to Old Town for lunch and a little shopping. This was a nice change of pace for us. We had a lot of fun and shot many photos. Click HERE for the full album, and enjoy some samples below:

New Year’s Eve 2010

This year we spent New Year’s Eve with our good friends Scott & Beth. We had dinner at a Japanese Steak House and then headed to a club for a party that allowed guests to view the fireworks from the roof top! We have a full photo album HERE.

Christmas 2010

Temperatures in the 60s, sunshine, and lots of friends. A great way to spend Christmas in Vegas. On Christmas eve we had 28 people at our place for appetizers, drinks, and dinner. Our small condo was packed but cozy. Christmas morning was just the three of us, but we got to video chat three times and talked with plenty of family members on the phone. Christmas night we made our annual trip to the Johnson’s for a nice family dinner. We have tons of photos and if you’d like the originals, just let us know. 22nd Anniversary

December 22nd was our 22nd wedding anniversary. It was a typical work day. We exchanged cards and gifts when we got home and then headed to Caesar’s Palace for dinner at Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab. We had a great dinner, excellent service, and picked out some crazy shoes for Lori from a Forum Shops store. Today also reminds us that it would be the 65th wedding anniversary for Joe’s grandparents if his grandfather was still with us. Here are some photos to enjoy:

Halloween 2010

We had a fun, active Halloween this year. Thursday the 28th Joe’s company had their annual party and on Friday Lori’s company had theirs. Saturday night we went to Green Valley Ranch to see the 80s hair band Steel Panther host a costume contest. On Halloween day we got a suite at the Golden Nugget and invited a handful of friends for a small party. Fremont Street is always great for Halloween and New Years. HERE is a full photo album from the night, and here are some samples from the album:

Grand Canyon West Rim Tour

Lori, Liz and good friend Beth got up early on a Tuesday morning and went on an 11 hour bus tour to the Grand Canyon’s West Rim. Click HERE for the full photo album. Here are some of the highlights:

Carnival Caribbean Cruise

Last week we joined 15 friends for a Caribbean cruise on the Carnival Liberty cruise ship. We stopped at Half Moon Cay Bahamas, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, and Grand Turk. At St. Thomas our friends Kristin and Mark got married on the beach. It was a very beautiful ceremony! We took about 1,500 photos and trimmed it down to under 500. Because the new cameras take such large photos, we did not upload the originals, so if you see something you’d like an original copy of, email lori@jobsons.org. Here are some highlights.
